O programe

Seriál navazuje na film Lví král (1994), přesněji na dobu před dějem filmu Lví král 2 (1998). Hlavním hrdinou je lvíče Kion, nejmladší syn Simby a Naly. Kion shromáždí skupinu zvířat, která se stane "Lion Guard", aby chránila Lví říši před nebezpečím. I přesto, že "Lion Guard" má být složena dle dávné tradice pouze ze lvů, Kion do party vezme gepardici Fuli, jezevce Bunga, hrocha Beshte a volavku Ono. Setkáme se se starými známými, jako je například Simba, Nala, Kiara, Zazu, Rafiki nebo Mufasa, jenž se stane duchovním průvodcem Kiona.(Khalia)
